Construction update

Some sign als work will be getting underway on May 27 and conclude at the end of the day on May 28, 2024, resulting in a full, single-day closure for the intersection north of Mission bridge.  This work is an important part of keeping traffic flowing through the busy Mission district.   The intersection will be closed to through traffic (east and westbound) while this work happens.   Elbow Drive from 4th to 5th Street SW will also be closed .  We’re encouraging people who will be in the area to plan ahead, allowing extra travel time for the detour or to plan an alternate route.     – Starting on May 27, a short-term closure will be implemented on the east side of the intersection north of Mission Bridge. It will be closed to through traffic – east and westbound – to allow for signals work.  – Elbow Drive from 4th to 5th Street will also be closed to allow for this signals work. – On May 29 until May 31, phase one of a road closure on 25 Avenue SW at the intersection of 5 Street SW will go into effect to allow for some buried infrastructure work. – Phase two of this road closure will happen on May 31, when 25th avenue SW will be reopened and 5 Street SW will be closed, only on business days, until June 4 to allow for similar buried infrastructure work.  Please be sure to follow all posted construction and detour signage in the area for your safety and that of construction crews.  Thank you for your patience as we get this work done!  Our project page is a great place to check for updates.    More Information  Please visit the project web page at Calgary.ca/missionbridgerehab.
