Community Up-Zoning and West Elbow Local Area Plan (LAP) – Engagement Opportunity

You are likely aware of City Council’s recent decision to initiate the process to remove R-C1 and R-C2 zoning, in place of R-CG base residential zoning, throughout the City. This is clearly a profound change as it would allow a developer to build high density (up to 8 doors) residences on any residential lot in the City, as of right. This is a matter you must pay close attention to if you are concerned about how Rideau-Roxboro will evolve, and we ask you to participate in all engagement opportunities provided by the RRCA or the City on this critical matter.

RRCA is happy to discuss this with you and plans to hold information sessions in the coming weeks. More information will be provided. If you have any immediate questions, please contact:

Every household in Rideau Roxboro should have received a booklet from the City introducing the West Elbow Local Area Plan. We strongly encourage you to provide feedback and to get involved as much as you can.  It is really imperative that we achieve a community effort in responding to this initiative – if we don’t respond in adequate numbers, we may lose our ability to alter or at least mitigate this course of events.

We will do our best to keep everybody informed throughout the process.

Below is a copy of the front of the West Elbow LAP Booklet dropped in our mailboxes, explaining Phase 1 (of 4) in the engagement process.
